Do what you can

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

Theodore Roosevelt

How often we wish we were someone else, living anywhere but here. We
fantasize ourselves away from our centers into dreamy worlds of power,
gratification, and ease. Frequently, our fantasies take a selfish turn and
overpower us with images of control over others and easy self-gratification.
We slide into a timeless world of selfish need where real people cease to exist.

We all need to dream and daydream. But let’s concentrate on living and
enriching the here and now, rather than escaping into a passive world
where people are mere objects to be manipulated. We need know the difference
between sick and healthy relationships. This hard won knowledge can become
healing wisdom as we strive toward a move fulfilling life.

Say with me:

I am leading to be attentive to the reality of the present moment and I
live it as fully as I can.
